Center for the Study of Black Youth in Context
We are pleased to introduce the Center for the Study of Black Youth in Context (CSBYC), a new center at the University of Michigan that focuses on research and action related to the social, psychological, and educational development of African American children and youth.

Ben and Jerry’s PartnerShop Youth Program
Ben & Jerry’s Youth Training and Employment Program is a 16-week training program for at-risk youth between the ages 15 – 21. During the first 4 weeks, students are in class learning employability and customer service skills. The next 4 weeks are spent in our Ben & Jerry’s store, where students will get an opportunity to use their customer service skills and learn how to properly serve the customers. After students have successfully completed their 8 weeks of training, they complete 8 weeks of paid work experience as a Scooper in our Ben & Jerry’s store. While students are completing their paid work experience, they are assisted in gaining continuous employment in the community.
Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan
Since 1926, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan (originally the Boys’ Club of Detroit) has provided high quality youth development programs, sporting activities, events and a safe haven for children from all walks of life. In addition, the Clubs have been credited with “saving lives” of children who often have no one to turn to in times of family problems, poverty, failing grades and other difficult situations. The Clubs – directors, professional staff and volunteers – are here to help children ages 6 to 18 grow into responsible, self-reliant and caring individuals. How do we do it? Clark Park Recreation Center
Our mission is to provide quality recreational opportunities that are built upon diversity, education, social skills, and mentoring programs for our community youth. Our motto is “Clark Park, Teaching Our Youth To Dream.”
Detroit Helping Our Youth Development
Our mission is to engage and develop diverse young people to positively impact their lives, their communities and the world. We accomplish that mission through programs that help young people ages 13 to 19 to use their voices for positive change.
Detroit Lions Youth Football
Detroit Lions/Ford Field organization introduces the Detroit Lions Youth Football Initiative, a state-wide venture designed for the positive development of the lives of Michigan’s youth through the sport of football.
Detroit Summer Youth Employment Program
The Detroit Summer Youth Employment Program is an innovative and collaborative approach to provide high-quality, meaningful, age appropriate summer employment and work experience opportunities to low-income and disadvantaged Detroit youth ages 14 to 24, helping them achieve academic, occupational and employment success all while combating joblessness among youth in Detroit.
Don Bosco Hall
Don Bosco Hall is a private non-profit agency, which provides supportive human services to enhance the quality of life for youth, and their families residing in the Metropolitan Detroit-Wayne County Community.
Living Arts Detroit
Living Arts is dedicated to strengthening the neighborhoods of Southwest Detroit by cultivating an environment that sparks the imagination and fosters ingenuity through the arts and community development initiatives.
Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit
Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit is an internationally acclaimed youth development program that concentrates on helping young artists excel on stage and in life. Mosaic’s mission to empower young people to maximize their potential through professional performing arts training and the creation of first-rate theatrical and musical art.
Urban Youth Program
We are a Non-Profit organization that offers enrichment programs. Our financial literacy, mentoring, and youth awareness programs, enhance the youth in the community. We offer each youth an opportunity to open a saving/checking account. We provide an excellent experience for the youth in the area. Our programs help youth achieve their goals in life.
YouthVille Detroit
Communicating the concept of positive youth development is the mission of YouthVille Detroit. The inclusion of youth parents, teachers, school administrators, business leaders, legislators, and the governor brought commitments and enthusiastic support from various stakeholders in the Detroit community and southeastern Michigan. YouthVille Detroit is more than a youth center—it is a concept, a new approach to developing youth and enhancing their well-being.
